Coming Soon...

We take a brief look at the long lost 'Josie' deleted scene from the final episode of Twin Peaks! We have asked Mark Frost, Richard Beymer and others to try and remember everything they can about this elusive chapter in Twin Peaks history! Also, we are able to present, for the first time ever, 6 very rare stills from that scene! We are going to put this up soon to tie in with the second wave of Richard Beymer prints that are forthcoming from TP 20!!

Really looking forward to this. I remember reading about this scene in Wrapped In Plastic years ago. But I never really knew if it was filmed, or just a thought they had. And I also hadn't realized there were more Beymer pics than the proof sheets that we've seen.

I had no idea that there was any scene with Josie! WOW!

Josie was there - but not Joan Chen...

I think the single biggest mistake Lynch and Frost made in Season 2 was the way they chose to handle Josie's death. I loved the mysticism of Twin Peaks, including the Black Lodge and all its mythology, but her spirit appearing in the knob of a drawer was over-the-top IMO. The scene came off looking cheesy and I believe that was the final blow that doomed the show for good by making it too offbeat for a mainstream audience. I am glad they did not show Josie's spirit haunting the halls of the Great Northern again- it would have diluted the impact of what were some great last few episodes.

Pete didn't see Josie in episode 27 as far as I know...

Pete stares at the fireplace at The Great Northern and says "Josie, I see your face..."

I remember that scene. It's great. Jack was great.

I wonder if it is also Josie that Ben sees?

Jerry,

Sorry it took so long to answer, but I thought the scene with Pete staring at the fireplace was fine. I also like the subsequent scene where Ben Horne turns around suddenly after Audrey leaves his office. I think as long as they threw in hints here and there about Josie's spirit being trapped in the wood (without the Nightmare on Elm Street special effects), I would have been fine with it. But if Lynch really wanted to keep Joan Chen in the cast, I think a twin sister would have worked better (although he'd already used that angle with Laura/Maddy).
