The headline makes it seem like this will be a first, but Fire Walk With Me has been available on Blu-ray before. It came out last year in France. That France release, I believe, was the first instance of FWWM being available on Blu-ray.

it'll probably be the same as the existing region B french release. seems unlikely to make a whole new release for the same region. as for region A, who knows...

We all know about the French release.

Since the 20th anniversary of FWWM is next year, hopes are high that we will finally see the deleted scenes. So, hope springs eternal that this release will be an early indicator of a worldwide Blu release for FWWM with the deleted scenes. There could be a rash of bare bones releases of FWWM on Blu simply to double dip everyone (with a SE coming in late Summer '12). That was my first thought on this Aussie release.

I think 2012 is the year. I know for a fact CBS is hoping it is.

Woo Hoo! Can't wait! but I bet your right Jerry but I'm hoping for Special Edition complete with bells and whistles! Thank's Jerry!

well mk2 did put different special features on the region 4 australian dvd than the US version. it's possible, but i'd say that the special features will be identical to the french bluray-whatever they might be.

I hope it will be released in the UK too.

The piece on Moviehole is a bit misleading also. They really needed to stress that it is an Aussie release only.

If they can't manage a R1 2012 release for the FWWM deleted scenes, then something is seriously wrong.

The key to the deleted scenes is still Lynch!! I don't think they've been "cleaned up & scored" yet, and he won't release them without doing so.

Ross - we probably have no idea if they have been cleaned up and scored yet! I'm sure they would do that in secret.

Question: assuming we eventually get the deleted scenes, does conventional wisdom tell us that we will be getting more of the sequence above the convenience store? I remember reading that they filmed 45+ minutes of that, but wasn't sure if that's included in what we eventually hope to get. For me, that would be the prize. Fifteen minutes of that would be heaven.
