I can't remember Slow Speed Orchestra 2 and Slow Speed Orchestra 3 from the series. Do you know for which scenes they were used and when they appeared the first time?
Absolutely AMAZING release. Sure wasn't expecting all these at once. I wonder what bundle 2 will include?
Anon - just download them! Seriously, they are all essential tracks! I have a thread over at dugpa.com that lists what episode each track can be heard in. Will take me awhile to do these though :)
Ross - agree, this is really what I've been waiting for. Incredible back-to-back release with 'Owl Cave'! I have no idea about Bundle 2 - I want too be surprised!
Yes Jerry, these in a playlist with "Owl Cave" and "Dark Mood Woods" is fantastic.
Oh, I have already downloaded them, Jerry. It was the first thing I did, LOL! Still I couldn't recall where Slow Speed Orchestra 2and Slow Speed Orchestra 3 are from...
Just creamed my undies over these
PS Black Lodge Rumblings wasn't that used for Cooper getting shot
I recognize the other motifs but can't place them (apart from the obvious ones)
'Black Lodge Rumble' can also be heard when Coop gets the package from Windom Earle in his room at the Great Northern. The TP music forum at Dugpa.com is a great place for getting the answers to the musical questions. As soon as everything is released, I'm going to post a list of every released track and where it is heard for the first time in the series.
All list are updated ;-)
On the second bundle - Johnsons's Theme for sure.
Great job Jakub! Seriously, everybody check out the TP music section at the Dugpa.com board for any music question - there are experts over there!
Yes- Jakub's lists are fantastic.
Jerry and Company - Much agreed! These tracks are incredible (as incredible as Jakub's lists - "Hot damn, Jakub's lists are good!"). Has anyone tried to speed up the tracks to hear them at normal speed? When I read the description I thought of Hans Zimmer's recent score to "Inception." He used Edith Piaf's "Non je ne regrette rien" at a slower tempo as a recurring motif. Thank you for the awesome work on this site - one of my favorites to visit daily!
The normal speed version of "Danger Theme" is actually heard once. In episode 29- the Doc Hayward & Ben Horne scene.
Ross - of course! Good to know as the speeded up versions were just going to my 'Bonus' section. Will have to work that in to my episode 29 playlist!
Ross - have you compared Qbin's speeded up 'Danger Theme' to the episode 29 version? The episode version seems a tad slower?
Does it Jerry? I'll have to check the episode too. Maybe we can ask Q. I'm still curious about the "Danger Theme" on the boots. I guess its maybe an unused alternate version? It has that different section at the beginning, and the rest sounds different as well.
Also, the "Normal Speed" version of "Black Lodge Rumble" is surprisingly pretty.
I've held off on listening to the boots again until after they have released everything so I can compare and figure out what needs to be included on my ultimate release.
Still not sure about the episode 29 version - it's about the same. Do any other of Qbin's altered versions belong in any of the episodes? I have to start figuring these things out now, because doing a complete sequenced playlist is going to one hell of a project!!!
Maybe I should just wait until Qbin finishes his new episode-by-episode list on Dugpa.
I was just listening to the boot version of "Danger Theme" again along with the scene in ep 29. Seems to me like the 2nd half of the boot version very well might be the one used in episode 29.
I don't think any of Q's other "Normal Speed" versions were ever heard. BUT- the alternate "Unease Motif" was used. The released version is actually reversed (backwards) and he made a non-reversed version. The non-reversed version is essentially the "clean version" of "Night Life In Twin Peaks". Both reversed and non-reversed versions were used on the show.
His "very slow" version of 24 Hours was also used.
Jerry
Are Qbin's boots available to listen to - I remember getting a folder of unreleased stuff from Dugpa awhile back - is this the stuff we are talking about.
I think it will be awhile before all this concludes music wise. Roll on friday for more stuff for Lynch
Andee - The boots I'm referring to are the original Badalementi boots that leaked from over 10 years ago. They were pulled from Angelo's DAT tapes and meant to played only at The Twin Peaks Fest. Of course they were copied.
Then Qbin did extractions from the dvd's.
I think we all agreed that since they were being made available from dl.com that all the links should be removed. It's extremely important that everyone pay for and support these tracks direct from dl.com
However, once everything is released and it's clear that nothing more will be officially released, I have no problem in seeing the left over boot tracks appearing (random stuff that never made an official release)
James Visits Laura is up on DL.com now
